Martin gave me the confidence to develop as an actor and as a character that could never come out of her shell. Working with young people can be such a challenge and a great test of patience but Martin always has time to comfort and advise you on the choices you make in the rehearsal room and on stage as a mentor and a friend. He has directed some of the best work to come out of Wigan and certainly the work I am most proud of. Martin’s hilarious sense of humor combined with his compassionate talent for directing always gives me the energy and extra push I need to give a great performance in the rehearsal room and on stage.

What a triumph. It must be said right away that director Martin Green deserves an Oscar for a wholly professional show. Attention to the smallest details was impeccable and the stage-size photographic backdrop of the countryside was magnificent. This ‘Calendar Girls’ made WLT audiences laugh and cry as the funny and deeply emotional story unravelled in a heady mixture of titters and tension

On a personal note just want to say how much I’ve valued all the help you’ve given us over the years – you’ve always managed to bring some energy and disciplined thinking to a very varied set of working ideas. Thank you

I was hugely impressed by the achievements of the cast under your direction, and thought the play was well written, with a good balance between humour and the seriousness of the subject. I’m delighted that we were able to contribute towards this performance.
